Meet the AgenciesOnline Executive Team
AgenciesOnline was founded by George Nordhaus and Valerie Jordan, who have more than 70 years of combined experience in insurance marketing and agency management.
With over 40 years of hands-on experience, George is a legend in the insurance community. The former EVP of the Insurors of Tennessee and the Indiana Association of Insurance Agents, George also formed the insurance education publishing firm Insurors Press located in Los Angeles.
Insurors Press was the publisher for the IIABA (Independent Insurance Agents’ Association), publishing examination manuals for licensing in twenty-five states. After becoming the number one provider of insurance newsletters for agencies, it eventually rebranded as Insurance Marketing and Management Services and expanded into marketing activities while continuing to publish books and manuals on marketing. IMMS remains the largest repository of marketing and management information on the Web for insurance agencies.
George has produced hundreds of seminars and conferences on marketing and management, and as a convention speaker, he has made over 2000 appearances before audiences in every U.S. state, in the Canadian provinces, and in Europe. His articles have appeared in every major insurance trade press publication.
In 1992, he became the youngest non-British Name at Lloyd’s of London and was later appointed Chairman of the Lloyd’s Members Association for Southern California, Arizona, and New Mexico. The Boston Insurance Board named George Insurance Person of the Year, and he received the Golden Torch Award, which is presented annually to an outstanding communicator in the insurance industry.
Val launched her thirty-year career in the insurance industry as Head of Marketing and Advertising with two insurance carriers. In 1990, she established Jordan & Jordan Associates, a financial services management consulting firm specializing in designing, developing, delivering, and implementing full service insurance programs to the financial institution marketplace.
From Chase Manhattan to one-branch community banks, Jordan & Jordan has been instrumental in the establishment of joint–venture, third–party, and “de novo” bank agency arrangements. J&J’s programs focus on the fulfillment of customer needs utilizing life, annuities, property/casualty, and specialty products. They incorporate both face–to–face and non–rep methods including Internet, call-centers, direct response, ATM’s, and kiosks.
Prior to rejoining her firm in 2007, Val served as SVP and Director of Operations for The South Financial Wealth Management Group. There, she oversaw eight operating areas – Trust, Private Banking, Brokerage, a title company, a 40l(k) company, a financial planning firm, and three full service property/casualty agencies.
Over the course of her career in the insurance industry, Val developed and deployed many of the communication and marketing solutions that are incorporated into the AO model. She has been published in Broker World, Financial Planning Magazine, Life Insurance Selling, National Underwriter, Best Review, and Bank Insurance Marketing. She is frequently quoted in American Banker and has formally presented at numerous conventions including LCA, IAFP, ABI, and FIIA (BISA).
